Children's Allergy Services
Compassionate and reliable, our trusted consultants have been supporting children and their families through every stage — from first symptoms to confident management. If you still have any questions, or would like to speak with one of our specialists, please get in touch.
Paediatric Allergy
The London Allergy Clinic provides a comprehensive diagnostic and management service for infants, children and adolescents with suspected or confirmed allergic conditions. We welcome patients from birth up to 18 years of age in the paediatric clinic. Our service is led by clinicians with specialist training in both paediatrics and allergy medicine.
Allergy symptoms in children can often be complex or difficult to interpret. Our approach focuses on thorough clinical evaluation, evidence-based testing, and personalised management plans. Our goal is to provide clarity, reassurance and continuity of care for families navigating allergy concerns.
The London Allergy Clinic, supports parents with evidence-based advice on weaning, allergy testing and early food introduction. Our paediatric team is highly experienced in helping families safely navigate the early years, especially when babies are at higher risk of conditions such as cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA), egg allergy, peanut allergy, or infant eczema.

Why Parents Trust Us
With decades of dedicated allergy care and a patient-centred approach, our practice blends clinical expertise with genuine compassion. Children and parents alike feel heard, reassured, and supported every step of the way.
Allergies can affect a child’s wellbeing, daily life, and the whole family’s confidence. Allergy isn’t just physical—it impacts health, education, and social experiences. We partner with families to build independence in children, offering practical tips and ongoing support for daily life.

Our paediatric specialists
Dr Emily Derrick is a Consultant Paediatrician with specialist expertise in allergy. She is the Clinical Lead for Paediatric Allergy at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. Her practice covers the full spectrum of childhood allergic disease, including cow’s milk protein allergy, nut allergies, as well as eczema and wheeze.
Dr Derrick is also trained in general paediatrics and is able to assess wider paediatric concerns that may arise during the consultation. This dual training enables her to offer a joined-up perspective on overlapping symptoms such as skin rashes, feeding problems or recurrent wheeze.
She is supported by Misbah Primett, a Paediatric Allergy Dietitian with a background in NHS allergy services. Misbah provides dietary advice for families managing food allergies and offers support with weaning, safe food reintroduction and nutritional adequacy in restricted diets.

Dietetic Support
To ensure the holistic care of young children, Misbah Primett is an allergy dietician who supports the care of children with allergies by offering tailored guidance on (amongst other things):
-
Step-by-step instructions on the introduction of allergenic foods during weaning
