Diagnosis & Specialist Care of Allergy & Clinical Immunology - Since 1982
GMC: 4430021
Dr Tammy Rothenberg is a Consultant Paediatrician with specialist expertise in paediatric allergy, asthma and childhood eczema. She offers thorough assessment and management of a broad spectrum of allergic and non-allergic conditions in children, bringing together specialist allergy knowledge with wide-ranging experience in general paediatrics.
Dr Rothenberg graduated from Oxford Medical School in 1997 and completed her NHS training as a general paediatrician, qualifying and working as a Consultant Paediatrician with an Interest in Allergy from 2012. Her passion for allergy medicine was sparked during her paediatric training at St Mary's Hospital, one of the UK's foremost allergy centres. She went on to consolidate her specialist postgraduate training by completing an MSc in Allergy (Imperial 2015), awarded on a full scholarship from the Allergy Academy.
Tammy is currently a Consultant Paediatrician and Allergist at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, she assesses and manages children with food allergies — including cow's milk allergy, nut allergy and egg allergy — as well as pet allergies, venom allergies, pollen allergies (hay fever) and a range of other allergic conditions. She is equally experienced in childhood asthma, eczema, recurrent rashes and urticaria (hives).
Alongside her allergy practice, Dr Rothenberg has extensive experience in general paediatrics and is well placed to address broader childhood health concerns that may emerge during consultation. This wide-ranging paediatric background enables her to take a holistic approach when evaluating symptoms that may overlap between allergy and other childhood conditions.
Dr Rothenberg has a particular interest in childhood asthma and holds the role of Paediatric Asthma Lead at Homerton Hospital. She is skilled in the diagnosis and management of asthma, recurrent wheeze and related respiratory conditions, supporting children and their families in achieving effective symptom control and long-term wellbeing.
Her clinical approach centres on careful assessment, clear communication and evidence-based treatment, ensuring families feel informed and well supported throughout their child's care.
Dr Rothenberg is a member of the British Society for Allergy & Clinical Immunology (BSACI) and served as lead for scientific abstracts at the BSACI conference from 2020 to 2022. She is also a member of the BSACI Paediatric Allergy Group.
Patients seeking a leading paediatric allergist in London, specialist childhood asthma care, food allergy assessment, eczema treatment or expert paediatric allergy testing can book an appointment with Dr Tammy Rothenberg at the Paediatric Allergy Clinic.
